What to expect during a Soluna coaching session.

Coaching on Soluna is designed to feel easy, supportive, and pressure-free. Young people connect with a trained human coach (not AI) who listens without judgment and helps them work through whatever is on their mind.

Our coaches are real people

Every session is led by a trained professional. Coaches bring experience in youth support, mental health, and peer guidance, along with ongoing training and  supervision from our clinical team.

Sessions are flexible and accessible

Young people can connect with a Coach through text, schedule a session in advance, or choose another supported format. Sessions are always free, no insurance is required, and the experience remains private and confidential.

Support is always youth-centered

A typical coaching session lasts about 30 to 45 minutes. The young person guides the conversation, while the Coach offers tools, encouragement, and practical steps to help them move forward in a way that feels right for them.

You can change coaches at any time

If a young person doesn’t feel connected during a session, they can easily switch to another coach. There’s no pressure to get it right the first time. Finding the right fit matters, and we make that easy.

The coach listened to me intently, asked me questions that made me really reflect on how I viewed the situation, and made me think a lot about myself. She gave me tools to help me deal with my tough situation. Her kindness and understanding really pushed me to look forward and try to grow...”

Keeping safety at the center of everything.

Safety is at the center of everything we do. Our safeguarding practices combine trained human oversight, clear clinical protocols, and platform-level protections to create a space where young people can show up authentically and get support without fear.

Clinician oversight strengthens every step

Coaches follow protocols developed and reviewed by our clinical team. This includes regular clinical supervision and audits to ensure safety and practice standards are consistently met across the model.

Safeguarding and monitoring for risk

Coaches and moderators are trained to recognize signs of distress or crisis in coaching sessions, journal entries, and peer spaces.

All user-generated posts move through a pre-moderation process to prevent harmful or unsafe content from appearing in peer spaces.

When necessary, staff follow established escalation pathways that include clinician consultation, mandated reporting requirements, and contacting emergency services when there is an imminent safety risk.

Commited to confidentiality and safety

Coaches keep conversations private except when safety is at risk.

If a coach is concerned that a young person may be in danger, or if the law requires a mandated report, they follow Soluna’s safeguarding protocols.

This may include consulting a licensed clinician, filing a report, or contacting emergency services when needed.

Designed to protect your privacy

Coaches follow safeguarding protocols developed and reviewed by our clinical team. When risk is identified, clinicians are available to guide decisions and offer additional support.

“One way Soluna has improved school for me is when I feel overwhelmed, I can talk to a coach. Having someone listen is incredibly helpful, and it has been great to help to lift some of the pressure that comes from school.”
